How do I order and setup an SSL certificate?

Order an SSL certificate from GoDaddy

www.godaddy.com

1. Click the link above to open the GoDaddy home page.

2. Click on the "SSL Certificate Tab"

3. Select "SSL Certificates"



4. Select "1 Year" and click the "Add" button.



5. Scroll to the bottom of the page (GoDaddy will try to upsell numerous products) and click "No thanks, Continue to checkout..."



6. Continue the checkout process:

A. Confirm that this is a "1 Year" certificate.
B. Select the payment method.
C. Agree to the terms.
D. Click the "Checkout Now" button.



7. Enter the payment information, then click the "Checkout Now" button.



8. A thank-you page will appear with a link to a printable receipt for your records.



Create a CSR request on the cPanel server

NOTE: If you do not run your own dedicated or personal virtual server, you will be required to contact support at: www.cornerstonewebsites.com/support to continue. Be sure to inform support that you need a "CSR Request" for an SSL certificate.

1. Login to your WHM account.

2. Click the "SSL/TLS" link.



3. Click the "Generate a SSL Certificate and Signing Request" link.



3. Enter the company information so that it will match the certificate when it is created in GoDaddy. Click "Create".



3. Copy the entire "Signing Request" box. This will be used to create the certificate within GoDaddy in the next step.



Setup an SSL certificate for Cornerstone Websites servers

1. Login to your GoDaddy account at http://www.godaddy.com.

2. Click the "My Certficates" link.



3. Click the "Use Credit" link. After this is clicked, select the "Activate Acccount" link on the right side of the page.



4. After a couple of minutes, a "Refresh Account" link will appear under the "Activate Account" button. Click this new link.



5. Click the "Manage Certificate" link that appears on the page.



6. Click the "Login w/Go Daddy account" box.



7. Agree to the terms.



8. Ensure that the "1 year Standard SSL" radio button is checked. Click the "Request Certificate" button.



9. Fill in the details of the certificate.

A. Enter the organization's details. (These will be confirmed with GoDaddy and the server that your site is located on to ensure the validity of the certificate.)
B. Paste the CSR code from the server here.
C. Ensure that Apache is in the window.
D. Check the box and click the "Continue" button.



10. Ensure that all of the information is correct and click "Confirm".



11. Within 1-2 days, GoDaddy will send an e-mail containing the certificate information, please forward this to Cornerstone Websites support at www.cornerstonewebsites.com/support so that the SSL certificate can be properly installed on your account.
