1. Login on the home page of your website.

2. Click on the site link that allows you to view the products. (In this example we are using a record "Collection")

Adding or Editing Categories

1. Every product needs a category to reside in. Select the "Products" drop down and the "Add Category" link.

Add the category information:

2A. Check the "Publish" box so that the category will appear live on your site.

2B. Enter a name

2C. Enter a description (Not required)

2D. If this category is a sub-category, in the "Parent" drop down box, select the category that this sub-category resides in, otherwise, leave this as the "Default-Top Level".

2E. Select the "Save" icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

3. The VirtueMart page should now appear with the new category listed. If you decide that a category must be edited, select the "Products" dropdown and "List Categories". Click on the name of the category that should be edited.

Adding or Editing Products

1. Select the "Products" drop down and click "Add Products"

There are quite a few items to fill out on this page that are very important to product implementation.

2A. Check the "Publish" box so that the product will appear live on your site.

2B. A SKU is required by virtue of the program. In this case, we made up our own by combining the group that recorded the record and the year in which it was recorded. (i.e. "Beach Boys 1955")

2C. Enter the name of the product. (i.e. the album name "Beach Boys Greatest Hits")

2D. Select the category that the product will reside in. (i.e. Rock 'n Roll)

2E. Choose a price for the product in the "Product Price (Net)". (Not required if you do not wish to sell products online)

NOTE: If a "Product Price (Net)" is added, and a tax code is located within "VAT Id", the "Product Price (Gross)" will automatically be added.

2F. Select the "VAT Id" tax code. (Not required if not selling products online)

2G. Enter a "Short Description" that will appear on the initial page that lists all products within the category. (i.e. "Recorded by the Beach Boys, these songs were compiled into the greatest hits in 1995.")

2H. Enter the "Product Description" that customers will see when the click on a specific product. (i.e. For the record collection all of the songs on the record were listed here on separately numbered rows so that a search engine will pick these up within the site.)

3. Enter an image by clicking the tab fourth tab labeled "Product Images".

4. Make sure that there are no messages at the top stating "Unwriteable". If this is the case, contact support at www.cornerstonewebsites.com/support to get this restriction lifted.

5. Choose an image on your computer to be used for the product.

A. Browse for the "Full Image"

B. Select "Auto-Create Thumbnail"

C. Select the "Save" icon in the upper right corner. (NOTE: Nothing else needs to be adjusted on this page. When selecting "Save", the images will be automatically uploaded to the website)

6. The VirtueMart page should now appear with the new product listed. If you decide that a category must be edited, select the "Products" dropdown and "List Products". Click on the name of the product that should be edited.
